This sauce was inspired by Bitchin' Sauce (an almond-based dip found in stores), so we call it B SAUCE for short. This inspired-by-bitchin sauce recipe is a must-try and is so easy to make!
This recipe makes a creamy almond-based sauce that can also be used as a dip, spread, or dressing.
This bitchin sauce recipe is vegan, gluten-free, and made with plant-based whole-food ingredients.
This vegan homemade inspired by bitchin sauce recipe is a great dip for what I call vegan “adult lunchables” (aka charcuterie boards), it goes great with veggies, crackers, and chips. Or spread it on sandwiches, like our smoked tempeh sandwich, burgers, and wraps, or add a scoop to liven up grain bowls.
Ingredients
Only 8 ingredients are needed to make the base of this sauce.
- almonds
- water
- olive oil
- lemon juice
- nutritional yeast
- tamari
- garlic cloves
- salt
The sauce is delicious with just these 8 ingredients and allows the garlic and lemon to shine through. If you want to go for the original style of bitchin' sauce dip, then add in the following spices:
- smoked paprika powder
- chili powder
- ground cumin
See the recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
This recipe is pretty straightforward.
Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and slowly increase the speed from low to high until blended throughout. Blend on high speed for about one minute.
If you would like a thinner sauce or if using it as a dressing add 1 tbsp of water at a time until you reach your desired texture.
Keep refrigerated.
Variations
The base sauce can be used as is and is delicious this way or change up the seasonings.
- Seasoning - switch up the seasonings. Instead of the "original" spices (smoked paprika, chili, and cumin), switch up the flavor and instead try cilantro, jalapeno, basil, or chipotle.
Equipment
A good quality high-performance blender is going to achieve the smoothest sauce. We recommend a Vitamix Blender, they are high quality, and although more money upfront they last for a very long time (mine is over 10 years old!)
